Residential Stair Lifts are the best thing for people in homes with varying floors or levels and have difficulty climbing stairs. The great thing about these chairs or lifts is that they fold conveniently out of the way when not in use. The lifts are not design for the stairs or the manufacturer, but for the homeowner and how it may be used efficiently in the home. And many of today’s models can be installed by residents in a couple of hours. Welcome to the website. I’m John Bosley and I researched lift companies for my father who was disabled back in 2000.

Home Stair Lifts
You have probably seen stair lifts in hotels or in meeting rooms, but they are now actually quite common throughout many residences. Home stair lifts have come of age. The technology, mainly refined through the space-age, has improved to the point where smaller parts can be used and materials made that withstand greater weight and forces. Plus, the drive train of today is totally different than it was even ten years ago. Improvements continue to happen and I’ll tell you about those.

Stairway Chair Lift
These lifts accompany stairways because that part of the home was designed to carry traffic. In addition, the construction of the house is reinforced at these points and adding a stairway chair lift is no burden whatsoever to most existing structures. So what you have to consider is what type of chair you will need; light or heavy duty, and what sort of warranty you think you might carry. There are also used stairway chair lifts to think about.

Acorn Stair Lifts
Acorn has a lift they call the Superglide and it got the name because the movement is just so smooth, you really do feel like you’re gliding. The Acorn Stair Lifts can be manually operated by the person sitting in the chair. These are not just for people unable to walk, but those who have a hard time climbing up and down, or need a break now and then. Being battery powered, there is no hard wiring that follows the chair back and forth as it goes between floors. Acorn has done a good job with moving people with stair lifts.

Bruno Stair Lift
Bruno is another manufacturer I like. They have a model called the Electra-Ride which is smooth and simply amazing how it can follow a curved track around a curve staircase. Again, battery powered to keep from any entanglement with cords, the Bruno Stair Lift is used in many commercial applications as well. They claim to be leaders in the curved rail technology and they say there isn’t a staircase they can’t install on. Bruno does suggest that you have one of their representatives install the stair lift for you.

There are used residential stair lifts as well, with some very good pricing. I would hesitate in buying from an individual, but would have a company completely check out the unit and know what I am getting before buying it. A lift will completely change the lift of someone who cannot climb the stairs.

A stairlift is a person or they are disabled or elderly to live a normal life within their own home. The technology is now used makes it much easier to install such units in their homes. But when it comes to stair lifts prices what a person actually pay for them will depend on several factors.
First, the price will depend on the make and model of stair lift that they choose to have installed in their home. Certainly a curved stair lift is more expensive than a straight stair lift. Simply because it will be much more time and effort to install.
Even if your possessions or even look at a curved or straight stair lift installed in your home, you should look to see if you want additional features added. Some people are looking for those with a wheelchair platform, while others are looking for those arms. However, it is essential that once a model of stair lift you choose to buy, a good quality belt, part of the standard functions.
When it comes to choosing the right type of stairlift for your home make the choice itself may seem very hard so it is wise that you spend time on discussing the matter with a reputable retailer stairlift. Many of these companies will then provide a tour of your house to the location and type of the stairs in your house to see and they will be able to recommend the best and make the model of stairlifts.
But when factoring in the cost of the stair lift installed and the cost for purchasing you will also need to factor in suche cost of the warranty of the device and also in relation to any repairs or maintenance and service costs that your May pay .
But stairlifts prices really drop significantly as more people the benefits of having a stair lift to see.
But if you believe the prices far above what you can actually afford then you might want to consider renting a place. Not only can a more affordable way to a stair lift installed in your home (especially if you only briefly) but also the cost for installing and warranty is covered in the monthly payments.

If you have someone in your home who are unable to stairs, then chair lifts for stairs is a real solution. They make life much easier for those with physical disabilities. That said, this chair lifts can be very expensive. So, what do you find the elevator that is suitable for your needs? Here’s a look.

Before starting, it is first important to asses your real need. Do you need a chairlift strictly for your staircase, you need a wheelchair lift for stairs? There is a big difference and you want to know this in advance for shopping.

The other area to address upfront or you would like a chair or a permanently mounted which is portable? Only you know the answer to that of course, but a portable lift is great for those houses that will not allow for a permanent mount.

Now you know what you need is a good thing to know what the key areas you need to search all residential stairlift.

Safety is the key

It goes without saying that safety is always your number one priority. Nobody wants a chair that is dangerous or difficult to try and use. I would say that you want to ensure that each lift is supplied with an automatic shutdown as a minimum requirement. I mean when I say that you want the machine itself to stop running over something in the road. It would be a pet or even a toddler.

Quality built

You should always state that it meets or exceeds all safety standards in place. Apart from that, there is a lot of maintenance required on the lift? If so, what exactly should be aware of? Finally, one of the biggest issues is in how well it compares to other brands and models of the stair chair lifts. Read the reviews and see what others are saying about it before purchasing.

What is the warranty?

Make sure each lift is supplied with a solid warranty that is supported by a good service department. Your warranty should all respect to the lift to cover the president and all mechanical and electrical systems. In essence, you should not be worried about anything with the device.

Here are some of the key areas for security and check in before buying. They will assist you in making your choice, and one that will last for years to come.

It’s hard enough that you have to consider remodeling your home to allow for a better and more comfortable way to move between floors. Shopping for home stair lifts should be no-brainer, but there are a lot of things to consider and a lot of players involved.

Here are the companies involved in this market:

Bruno Stairlifts
Makes stair lifts right here in America, battery powered, for your home. Has some of the nicest curved staircase lifts. Is ISO-9001 Certified. Rated A+ by the Better Business Bureau. This company has been in business a long while, has managed to keep its nose clean, and people obvious like the lifts.

ThyssenKrupp Access
One of the nicest features of the ThyssenKrupp site is that they have live chat so you can sit back and ask questions while you ponder the pages, but it wasn’t working on the Friday noonish time we checked. Remember, these are sales people. ThyssenKrupp has been in business about 60 years and says they are the world’s most trusted name in home stair lifts. They offer three models.

AmeriGlide
The site is slow mainly because of a review site plug in they are using. Makes their whole site sluggish. They claim their home stair lifts are A17.1 and A18 safety standard rated. And they sell reconditioned units here as well. It appears they are mainly for the do-it-yourselfer. A whopping 5 year warranty on the stair lift. But don’t trust any reviews you see on a manufacturer’s site. They supposedly buy their lifts from Summit and change out the seat to call the unit their own.

Acorn
Started as a refurbisher in the early ’90′s, Acorn soon started making their own stair lift and became a world leader selling over 30,000 lifts a year. They operate worldwide. There are few complaints, but one person mentioned it took them weeks to get an install right and customer service was spotty. Battery replacement requires dismantling the whole unit.

Summit Stairlifts
Another Made in America stair lift, the Summit offers three models with varying features. Summit prides itself in reliability and I found that the best benefit of these units. You could potentially get trapped on the top floor if the unit failed. I believe that Summit is the best deal and value for you and has the best support. I recommend this home stair lift. They offer free shipping as well.

Harmar Stairway Lift
See Summit Stair Lift above.

Stannah
Stannah also claims to be the world’s largest in home stair lifts. Family owned and operated they manufacture their lifts and offer three models to choose from. One is an outdoor stair lift. They are made in the UK and have been the recipient of the Queen’s Award for Export Achievement.
